SALES PERSON/SHOPKEEPER

TDO & ODV Wines is a small, independently owned retail bakery and wine shop located in Tempe. We are currently seeking a part-time shopkeeper.

Our retail shop is open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The shopkeeper would be scheduled to work 9:30 a.m. to close, typically 3/3:30 p.m.

Essential Duties:
Customer Service – Greets every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, reading customer cues and matching their needs with our service level. Able to answer questions regarding merchandise and complete the purchase through in-store sale. Assist customers with placing cake and other orders for future pick-up
Cashwrap – Complete customer transactions; Responsible for accuracy in counting money and providing change. Enters and completes sales via the POS. Responsible for verifying age of customers via carding to insure no wine sales are made to underage customers.
Store Operations – Maintains a neat, clean and safe environment for our customers. Restocks inventory as needed, dusting, facing and pricing wine bottles on shelves, maintaining and clean shop restroom, sweeping, cleaning windows/entry doors, front walkways and removal of trash from parking lot along with any other housekeeping items deemed necessary.
Merchandising – Helps receive new inventory, prepares and places merchandise on the sales floor; organizes and maintains the wine and other product back stock. Adds new merchandise to the POS with correct category and tax assignment.
Wine Club & CSA - Assist team with preparing wine club bags for every-other-month pick-ups, assist with wine club pick up parties, sell wine club memberships; assist with preparing weekly CSA bags, communicate with CSA members via text messages as needed, greet CSA members and hand out bags
Cooking Classes and other special events - Helps prepare space for classes, greets attendees and assists chefs as needed.
Wholesale Order Fulfillment – Assists kitchen with packaging, labeling and readying wholesale orders for pick up/delivery.
Personal Development – Optional participation in wine tastings/meetings with owners and sales reps. Is open to and responsive to coaching and feedback.
Other Duties – Performs other duties as assigned by the management team.

Required Skills and/or Certifications:
A current Maricopa County Food Handlers card
A current certificate of AZ Title 4 basic training for off-premise liquor sales
Possess customer service skills. Is professional, friendly and respectful
Self-directed. Able to see what needs to be done.

Ability to move with tempo to meet time bound expectations
Interest in and desire to learn the wine and food we offer
Good written and verbal communication skills
Possess basic wine knowledge and/or a desire to learn
Proficient in use of technology to successfully engage in customer interactions and transactions
Must have the ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store
Lifting, must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds (e.g. a case of wine) on an occasional to frequent basis

It is a weekly 3-day gig-Thursday through Saturday from 9:30-3/3:30 p.m. We are closed for major holidays and will close for a month during the summer.

​Some wine knowledge is helpful, interest in food and a love of assisting others is especially important.

Requirements: current Maricopa County Food Handler's certificate and Arizona Title 4 Liquor Off-Premise certification.
